Last week, when I heard of Mr. Putin's threats, everyone got chills through their spines. In general it is that any country participating in the embargo against Russia is considered to be declaring war on Russia and will suffer dire consequences. As soon as Uncle Pu had just finished thread his close assistant whispered in his ear: "Over two hundred countries, comrade". Uncle never used the internet, so if his subordinates didn't report it, he wouldn't know. Hearing that, he back flipped and begged: "stop the embargo, please ..." No matter how talented and strong you are, you won’t stand a chance when you are attacked in pacts"

On news about war front, all newspapers and TV stations reported that the Russian army was about to attack Kiev, the 70 km long convoy was on its way, the Chechen men already landed into the city, rockets, bombs, bullets etc... I kept giggling. Fight what? The troops and armoured vehicles and tanks hurriedly entering the Ukraine territories and cites is the big mistake, providing for them with essentials to live through the winter when facing hostile locals is a huge task and bad enough. Withdrawing will be a nightmare, they will be hotly pursued by the Ukraine armed force and even local civilians. Stay put, they will be battered by Ukraine local militias. Invading a city the size of Kiev requires several dozen divisions of regular army. A few groups of special force troops are not possible.

Therefore, the Russian generals now are trying to switch to the time consuming “sure-attacking” strategy. To do so, Putin’s warring machine must mobilize the whole of Russia, the entire country into the war’s effort. That is to increase the numbers of troops to the battlefields, increase the logistical supplies like ammunitions, fuels, foods. It is like in Vietnam during the war, when young people come of age, they join the army, nurses, doctors, pilots, sailors, engineers.... A whole national machinery must serve the war’s efforts. As rich as the United States, even if it was involved in a war, it could be possible that the nation’s economy would also collapse, while Russia only has a reputation on paper, no real substance. Uncle Putin just speaks tough, opens his mouth to blow out with fake threads, people around the world are no longer afraid of this paper polar bear.

Stop bluffing, uncle Pu!, you only have a few lousy rockets and can only use destroy residential buildings in towns and cities, they are useless in the battle, that is why your invading forces can’t advance much into the Ukraine territory. Changing tactics also takes time, not like you want on the map with arrow signs. Adding more troops requires training. If you attack a target, you must have soldiers, weapons, logistics.... But moving supplies by cars is very slow, transferring by plane is yet to materialise as your troops have not managed to occupy any important bridgehead airfields deep inside Ukraine, even if it can be achieved, those bridgeheads will be rendered useless by the Ukraine special force and local militias. It is clear that air superiority has not belonged to Russia yet. In the near future, when Ukraine receives a few more fighter jets fleets from the West (the news rumours that they have received a number of fighters jets from some NATO countries), Moscow may receive bombs in retaliation. This is just a wild guess, but it might be real. Ukraine is no longer afraid of the might of Russia. They have endured enough, Ukraine will no longer be like a sandbag for Russia to punch whatever and whenever it wants.

In the coming days, how will the war play out? I'll take the wild of guessing: the President of Ukraine was once an actor and screenwriter, so he knows how to make us laugh or drop... tears. It must be said that he has excelled in this role. From an untrusted nation, he now has the support of most countries of the world. He asked for 10 from the Western countries, particularly NATO allies and got seven or eight. He is asking NATO to set up the no-fly zone to cover all of his country, if no one jumped in, they have to give him fighting jets. When Ukraine has enough advanced air power, she will switch to counterattack. In two weeks I guess. The long range rockets deliver several hundred pounds of explosives to the targets, would cost millions of dollars. While fighter jets can carry a few tons of bombs, it only cost a little for fuel. So “do with the means’” is Ukraine's strategy now. They must prepare for a long battle. If there are planes they will poke deep into Russia's back, in this case Russia also has to defend. Russia should provoked, entice Ukraine to fight first. Unfortunately, this insidious plan was unmasked by the Ukraine government of President Zelenskyy as well as the West. Ukraine has successfully endured passing two weeks under the Russian’s deadly and intensive, destructive onslaughts. Now the Russian invading forces are facing the steel wall, suffered heavy loss of combat soldiers (with news of nearly 10,000 so far) and large number heavy military hardware, and are forced to stall and recede. The opportunity to counter-attack can’t let to slip off the hands of the Ukraine arm forces before Russia can change her tactics.

Ukraine still has the intact Western rear regions, and all military hardware for counter-attack are hidden here. It is rumoured that they had sent several special units to wipe out the Chechens yesterday. This proves Ukraine armed force still have their trump cards hidden in their sleeve. I suspect they have the … aces!

Tuần rồi nghe bác Putin hăm mà ai cũng lạnh gáy. Đại ý là quốc gia nào tham gia cấm vận Nga xem như là tuyên chiến với Nga và sẽ lãnh hậu quả thảm khốc. Bác vừa phán xong thì trợ lý ghé tai nói nhỏ: " trên trăm nước lận đó ". Bác xưa nay không xài internet nên đám dưới không báo cáo thì đâu có biết. Nghe vậy bác đành năn nỉ : " thôi đừng cấm vận nữa nghe , làm ơn...". Bác có tài đến đâu mà chúng xúm lại " bề hội đồng " thì cũng không chịu nổi.

Buồn quá , bác hỏi trợ lý: " kiếm chuyện gì xả stress coi !"...." dạ dạ, có mấy em tiếp viên hàng không mới ra trường, hàng tuyển. Kính mời ngài đến thăm ạ...." . Tui giống đại ca chỗ đó. Hôm nào căng thẳng tinh thần là cứ kiếm hình mấy người đẹp likes tá lả là.... dịu xuống liền. Bác họp với nội các, bác ngồi xa cả chục mét, nhưng hôm nay thăm mấy em, bác thật tình thương mến thương. Còn chiến trường, lính Nga chết lủ khủ, chưa thấy bác thăm hỏi gì hết.

Tin tức chiến trường thì đài báo nào cũng đăng là quân đội Nga sắp tổng tấn công Kiev, nào là đoàn xe dài 70 km đang trên đường tới, nào là đội quân Chechnya đã tung vào đánh trong thành phố, nào hoả tiễn, bom đạn v.v.... Tui cứ cười. Đánh gì nữa mà đánh. Đám quân lỡ tiến vô rồi, tiếp vận cho họ sống qua mùa đông cũng đủ mệt, rút về là bị truy kích, ở lại thì bị du kích đánh tiêu hao. Đánh một thành phố cỡ như Kiev phải vài chục sư đoàn. Vài đội quân đặc nhiệm là không thể.

Do đó các tướng lãnh Nga đã chuyển qua chiến thuật đánh chắc. Muốn vậy phải tổng động viên cả nước Nga, cả một nước vào chiến cuộc mới được. Nghĩa là tăng quân, tăng kho tàng tiếp liệu. Nó giống như VN thời chiến tranh, thanh niên đến tuổi là tòng quân, y tá, bác sĩ , phi công , thuỷ thủ, công binh..... Cả một guồng máy quốc gia phục vụ chiến tranh mới đủ. Giàu có như Mỹ mà dính một cuộc chiến cũng sập tiệm, nói chi Nga chỉ có tiếng chứ không có miếng. Nên bây giờ bác Putin vẫn nói cứng, mở miệng là hăm tứ tung nhưng bà con hết sợ rồi.

Thôi ! Bác chỉ còn ít hỏa tiễn bắn tàn phá các thành phố chớ tiến quân là không thể. Đổi chiến thuật cũng cần thời gian, không phải muốn là được. Tăng thêm quân thì cũng phải có huấn luyện. Đánh chắc thì phải có kho tàng , tiếp vận..... Mà chuyển bằng xe thì chậm lắm, chuyển bằng máy bay thì chưa chiếm đầu cầu nào. Rõ ràng ưu thế trên không chưa thuộc về Nga. Sắp tới khi Ukraine được nhận thêm vài đội máy bay thì có thể Moscow lãnh bom trả đũa . Giấc này rồi không ai sợ ai hết, theo kiểu tui nhịn lắm rồi, đâu phải bao cát cho bạn muốn đấm sao cũng được.

Những ngày sắp tới, cuộc chiến sẽ diễn ra như thế nào? Tui xin mạn phép đoán mò : Tổng thống Ukraine đã từng là diễn viên và biên kịch nên ông biết cách nào làm cho ta cười hay ... nhỏ lệ. Phải nói rằng ông đã xuất sắc trong vai trò này. Từ một quốc gia chưa được tin tưởng, giờ ông có rất nhiều ủng hộ của gần hết thế giới. Ông xin xỏ 10 thì cũng được bảy tám. Ông xin lập vùng cấm bay, không ai nhào vô thì phải đưa máy bay cho ổng . Khi có không lực rồi thì sẽ chuyển qua phản công. Tui đoán là khoảng hai tuần nữa. Hoả tiễn đưa được vài trăm cân chất nổ đến mục tiêu, tốn cả triệu đô. Còn máy bay mang vài tạ bom, chỉ tốn chút xăng. Nên liệu cơm gắp mắm là chiến lược của Ukraine bây giờ. Họ phải chuẩn bị cho một cuộc chiến dài hơi. Có máy bay họ sẽ thọc sâu vào sau lưng nước Nga, lúc này Nga cũng phải phòng thủ. Đáng lẽ Nga phải chọc tức, dụ cho Ukraine đánh trước , tiếc quá, mưu kế này bị bác Bi vạch mặt. Sắp được hai tuần chịu đựng sự tấn công của Nga. Giờ các đoàn quân xâm lăng đã phải ngừng lại. Thời cơ phản công không để lỡ trước khi Nga đổi chiến thuật.

Ukraine còn một hậu phương miền tây chưa hề hấn gì và mọi phương tiện phản công đang ém ở đây. Nghe nói họ có tung vài đơn vị để diệt đám Chechnya hôm qua . Chứng tỏ họ còn giấu bài. Tui nghi họ còn con... ách!
