It's raining heavily in Melbourne today, all works are temporarily put on hold. To say it in the tone of the Southern region of Vietnam: “no worry, be happy”. I find this sentence interesting and philosophical. When I was young, my old man asked me to do something, but when I said this phrase, he immediately chased after me with a broom. Near the end of my life, I found it quite true. There is another phrase: “regardless you do so well, when take a bath you still... stay bare naked”. Hmm, why is it so true you always take the shower bare naked? It must be said that Southerner’s proverbs have no deep meaning, like their character. But it sums up one’s life's experience, so it's always right.

The Australian way of life is similar too. Vietnamese or Chinese people are very concerned about the future wellbeing of their families, so they work hard to take care of their children. Buy a few houses to be ready for their children, so that when they start their married life, they instantly have their own assets. Westerners take care of their children until they are 18, then the children will take care of themselves. Then they start enjoying life: traveling, sports, doing charity. When you are young, you contribute for your retirement, when you are old, you go to a nursing home without bothering your children. Everything just work out right.

Southerner Viets inherited freedom under the two republican presidencies before being deprived by the vietcong dictatorship regime after 1975. Although free and republic democratic system in South Vietnam young and not perfect because of the war in the country that was staged by communist North Vietnam regime, South Vietnamese people had tasted the taste of freedom, equality, sympathy... That fragrance was unforgettable until the unbearable smell of “shrimp paste” regime brought in by the vietcong, they couldn't stand it. Those who had the conditions, or found the conditions to escape the country, even though they didn't know if the destination was better living under the communist regime, but certainly the new destinations had the smell of freedom. Those who could not go or still had a heavy heart for their country, had to stay and live with the smell of “shrimp paste/stink cheese”. Those who are born after 1975 facing with only the shrimp paste society, think that the smell of shrimp paste is already great.

So there is a paradox that the aggressor brings the ideal of liberation to the enslaved, but wherever he goes, people just run away. Have you ever wondered why after 1975 no one ran over to the North of the 17th Parallel or asked for took refuge in China? Or like the current Ukraine war, the Ukrainians only run one way to the West? Because they have briefly smelled the sweet scent of FREEDOM from Western neighbouring countries. The countries that used to be poorer and under developed, now are advanced, developed, strong, independence and above all they have democracy and personal freedom. No one in these countries will be the presidents for the rest of their life, no matter how good they are.

I've been writing about the Ukraine war for two weeks now, I've also read the history of the two countries, and found out why Russia hates Ukraine. Before that, when Ukraine denuclearized, Russia signed a non-aggression treaty. Now, Russia still invades and wage the deadliest war against Ukraine. Reading comments from supporters of Russia, the majority think that Ukraine is stupid and doesn't know how to be neutral. Ask to join NATO, bring missiles close to Russia border. Russia’s punishment to Ukraine is the right action. A German congresswoman also made a similar statement.

Studying the map, it was found that Ukraine blocked Russia's access path to the Black sea. Even the stupidest person knows that even if Ukraine is neutral, Russia still has to take over Ukraine. It is imperative if Russia wants its future to be expandable. Sooner or later they will invade, the problem is when. This year the opportunity is favourable because... it is everything, to say in details is very long. Probably that most of us already knew at least one factor – the kneeling factor.

When the strong fight the weak, there are thousands of reasons. That's politics. Genocide, fascism, historical hatred.... There are excuses for whatever reason you want. In general, unless Ukraine voluntarily annexed to avoid bloodshed.

It's not that the Ukrainians don't want to be neutral, but they know that being neutral will eventually fall into Russia's arms. Russia will divide, then incite separatism. Then like a silkworm eating a mulberry, Ukraine eventually returned to a part of Russia, as Putin has said: It's the history.

But if Russia is a civilized, democratic country, then merging is also a good thing. But Ukraine had the deadly history lesson with Russia long ago. They would rather die than live with Russia. They head to the West, where there is a fragrance of freedom. This smell is so special and addictive that anyone who had smelled “freedom”, now can't stand the smell of “stink shrimp paste” of communism anymore.

Reading comments from people named ...red cows (vietcong’s keyboard propaganda army) is as bad as smelling shrimp paste. Those so called red cow propaganda battalion never smell the freedom fragrance. From baby to an adult, they only inhale one kind of smell – “stink shrimp paste” smell. So when that mouth speaks up, it is full of strong and unbearable odours, we should sympathize with them.

Hôm nay Melbourne trời mưa lớn, mọi công việc tạm gác lại. Nói theo kiểu người miền nam: chiện đâu còn có đó. Tui thấy câu này hay và thật triết lý. Hồi trẻ , ông già sai làm việc gì mà mình nói câu này là ổng xách chổi chà rượt chạy không kịp. Gần cuối đời , lẫm rẫm thấy nó khá đúng. Còn câu nữa : làm cho lắm, tắm cũng... ở truồng. Ơ hơ, sao mà nó trần trụi mà thực tế. Phải nói những câu tục ngữ miền nam không hàm ý sâu xa , giống như tính cách con người của họ . Nhưng nó đúc kết kinh nghiệm đời nên lúc nào cũng đúng.

Xem cách sống của người Úc cũng vậy. Người Việt hay Tầu rất lo xa nên làm lụng vất vả để lo cho con cái. Mua vài cái nhà để sẵn cho con, để khi ra riêng các con có tài sản liền. Dân Tây thì lo cho con đến 18 tuổi, sau đó bọn chúng tự lo. Họ lúc này enjoy với cuộc đời: đi du lịch, thể thao, làm từ thiện. Lúc trẻ đóng tiền hưu, về già đi vào viện dưỡng lão không phiền con cái. Vậy rồi cũng xong.

Người miền nam thừa hưởng hai chế độ cộng hoà trước khi bị tước đoạt sau 75. Dù chưa hoàn hảo vì hiện tình đất nước, nhưng họ đã nếm được cái mùi vị tự do, bình đẳng, bác ái... Cái hương thơm đó không thể nào quên được cho đến khi cái mùi mắm tôm tràn vô thì họ không chịu nổi. Ai có điều kiện , hoặc tìm điều kiện để bỏ xứ ra đi , dù chưa biết nơi đến có khá hơn không , nhưng chắc chắn có cái mùi tự do. Những người không thể đi hoặc vẫn nặng lòng với tổ quốc đành ngậm ngùi ở lại sống chung với cái mùi mắm đó. Còn những kẻ sinh ra chỉ ngửi được có một mùi thì nghĩ rằng cái mùi mắm tôm này đã là tuyệt vời rồi.

Nên có một nghịch lý là kẻ đi xâm lăng mang lý tưởng giải phóng cho người đang bị nô lệ mà cứ đi đến đâu là người ta bỏ chạy đến đó. Bà con có bao giờ tự hỏi tại sao sau 75 không ai chạy ngược ra bắc hay xin vô TQ lánh nạn? Hoặc như chiến tranh Ukraine. Họ chỉ chạy một chiều sang hướng tây? Vì họ đã phảng phất ngửi được cái mùi TỰ DO thơm phức từ các nước lân bang . Các nước ngày xưa không bằng một góc của họ, giờ đã tiến bộ, đã phát triển, đã giầu lên và trên hết họ có dân chủ. Bên họ không có ai làm tổng thống đến mãn đời dù có giỏi đến đâu chăng nữa.

Cả hai tuần nay viết về chiến tranh Ukraine, tui cũng đọc lịch sử hai nước, tìm hiểu tại sao Nga lại uýnh Ukraine. Trước đó khi Ukraine giải giáp nguyên tử, Nga đã ký hiệp ước không xâm phạm. Giờ Nga vẫn uýnh. Xem các comments phe bênh Nga thì đa số cho rằng Ukraine ngu, không biết trung lập. Đòi gia nhập NATO, đem hỏa tiễn sát sườn Nga. Nga uýnh là phải rồi. Một bà nghị sĩ Đức cũng có phát ngôn tương tự.

Nghiên cứu cái bản đồ thì thấy Ukraine chặn đường phát triển của Nga ra biển. Người ngu nhất cũng biết dù có trung lập đi nữa, Nga cũng phải chiếm đoạt Ukraine. Đó là sự bắt buộc nếu Nga muốn tương lai có thể bành trướng. Trước sau gì họ cũng đánh chiếm, vấn đề là khi nào mà thôi. Năm nay thời cơ thuận lợi vì... đủ thứ mà nói ra thì dài lắm.

Kẻ mạnh khi đánh kẻ yếu thì có muôn ngàn lý do. Chính trị là vậy. Diệt chủng nè, phát xít nè, hận thù lịch sử nè.... Muốn lý do nào cũng có lý do đó. Nói chung , trừ phi Ukraine tự nguyện sát nhập để tránh đổ máu .

Không phải người Ukraine không muốn trung lập mà họ biết trung lập rồi cũng sẽ vào trong vòng tay Nga. Nga sẽ chia rẽ, rồi xúi giục ly khai. Rồi như con tằm ăn dâu, cuối cùng Ukraine lại trở về một phần của Nga như Putin nói : đó là lịch sử.

Nhưng nếu Nga là một quốc gia văn minh, dân chủ thì sát nhập vào cũng là điều tốt. Nhưng Ukraine đã có bài học lịch sử với Nga lâu rồi. Họ thà chết chớ không muốn sống chung với Nga nữa. Họ hướng về phía tây, nơi có mùi hương thơm của sự tự do. Cái mùi này nó độc ở chỗ ai lỡ ngửi rồi là không chịu nổi cái mùi mắm tôm nữa.

Nên đọc những comments của đám người mà người ta gọi là ...bò đó. Họ có ngửi được cái mùi thơm bao giờ đâu. Từ bé đến lớn chỉ một mùi thum thủm. Thì cái miệng nói ra sặc mùi nồng nặc, bà con cũng nên thông cảm.
