Biến đổi khí hậu
Ông Trump luôn nói những điều không vừa lòng với những người trí thức. Ai đời giữa bàn dân thiên hạ ở Liên Hiệp Quốc mà ông nói biến đổi khí hậu là một trò lừa đảo. Không thèm nói lái là “đào lửa” như phe ta. Thiệt không nể nang các nhà khoa học đã nghiên cứu cả mấy chục năm nay. Người ta ghét và có nhiều bình luận coi thường ổng là vì vậy. Mấy năm trước tui cũng có mon men viết về cái vụ này nhưng bị “dập” liền. Bây giờ ai mà có quan điểm môi trường kiểu ông Trump là bị tẩy chay dữ lắm. Nó trở thành vấn đề đạo đức rồi.
Cái hồi tui còn đi học thì được dạy rằng trái đất có bầu khí quyển bao phủ và đó là sự sống của mọi sinh vật. Bầu khí quyển này như tấm kính giúp ta tránh được những cái hại (bức xạ) của ánh sáng mặt trời. Vì là một sự kín đáo như một cái nhà kính mà người ta hay dùng để trồng trọt trái mùa, nên nếu ta dùng nhiên liệu mà thải ra khí CO2, nó sẽ làm trái đất nóng lên. Thí nghiệm cho coi đàng hoàng. Lấy hai chai nhựa. Một chai để bình thường rồi vặn nắp vô. Một chai bơm khí CO2 vào rồi cũng vặn nắp. Cả hai đều có một nhiệt kế cũng thả trong đó.
Để hai chai dưới ánh nắng một lúc. Thì thấy cái chai có khí CO2 “ấm ấm” hơn chai kia. Gọi là chạy trời không khỏi nắng. Thí nghiệm làm tui tin sái cổ rằng nhân loại mà cứ thải khí CO2 nhiều là sẽ làm trái đất nóng lên.
Mà trái đất nóng thì sẽ làm tan băng ở Bắc Cực và Nam Cực. Nước biển sẽ dâng cao. Đất bị ngập. Người sẽ hết nơi sinh sống…. Mau mau tìm cách giảm khí thải. Than đá, dầu diesel là tội nặng nhất. TV chiếu hình những nhà máy ngùn ngụt khói làm hãi hùng. Các vị dân cử yêu trái đất vội vã ra những luật lệ hạn chế khí thải. Mà cái dân thải khí CO2 nhiều nhất lại là đám dân nghèo. Nghèo mới chạy xe dầu, nghèo mới dùng than đá. Than đào lên là xài được liền. Còn năng lượng gió hay pin mặt trời gì đó phải có tiền, có vốn đầu tư mới có mà xài.
Hồi đó tui quen một “ghệ” người Philippines. Ẻm hay qua Nhật mua hàng của tui (đồ cũ). Một hôm tui mua rẻ được một chiếc “Mẹc” còn mới mà giá rẻ. Tay lái nghịch bên Nhật thì thuận với Phi. Ngồi vô lái thử ôi chao nó êm ái, nhắp nhẹ chân ga là vọt, không một tiếng động. Đóng thùng gởi cho ẻm để ẻm lái cho sang chảnh. Chớ tiền đâu mà mua nổi. Sau này nghe ẻm nói xe không được phép chạy ở thủ đô Manila. Vì nơi đây cấm xe chạy dầu diesel vào thành phố. Má ơi, lúc mua cái Mẹc đó và lái thử tui không biết nó chạy bằng dầu. Lỗ vốn!
Úc văn minh hơn. Không cấm gì hết. Chỉ đánh thuế dầu diesel thêm mấy chục phần trăm. Ở Úc chạy xe dầu tốn hơn xe xăng. Tuy vậy dân thợ chuyên chở đồ nặng nề như tui phải chạy xe dầu chớ không dám “đụng” xe xăng. Than đá là cấm tiệt. Than ở Úc bao la. Nhiều nhà máy điện họ đặt ngay trên mỏ than. Xúc bỏ vô lò tại chỗ. Thật tiện lợi. Giờ đóng cửa hết. Qua Singapore mua xăng dầu về chạy máy phát điện. Khỏi nói là giá cả trút vô đầu người dân cỡ nào rồi.
Hồi đó đi chợ thì người bán chịu tiền … cái bọc. Giờ thì ta trả . Mấy nhà nghiên cứu còn nói nuôi bò thải nhiều CO2 lắm nên sắp tới chuyển qua ăn thịt nhân tạo. Rồi nay thì khuyến khích xài pin mặt trời hay cánh quạt gió. Không ai nhắc rằng làm ra cục pin thì ô nhiễm thế nào hoặc cái cánh quạt khổng lồ làm chim chóc sợ hãi bay đi hết khiến sâu bệnh phát triển. Nhà nông phải phun thêm thuốc trừ sâu. Người ăn lãnh đủ bệnh tật.
Nói chung, cái gì cũng có giá phải trả. Được cái này phải chịu mất cái kia mới là lẽ công bằng.
Sau này tui được đi… máy bay nhiều. Từ trên cao nhìn xuống đất mới thấy con người nhỏ bé như cái kiến. Đất trời mênh mông. Có đẻ thêm vài chục tỷ dân cũng không ở hết được trái đất. Con người với thiên nhiên có là cái gì đâu. Tại sao mà cứ sợ hãi để làm khổ mình. Năng lượng làm thế giới văn minh. Thử hỏi không có điện là … chết khát hết vì máy bơm nước không chạy. Bây giờ mà hỏi con AI, để nó nghĩ giùm mình và trả lời, là phải có điện chạy vù vù mới được. Tận dụng năng lượng sẵn có là một cách tiết kiệm. Hồi tui học thế giới sử và địa lý toàn cầu. Được biết Châu Âu thiếu gì các loại mỏ. Nhưng giờ đóng lại không khai thác sợ ô nhiễm môi trường. Mua của Nga của Mỹ xài mới chịu. Sống hãnh diện với “đạo đức”. Nhưng thật ra là chuyển cái dơ bẩn sang cho người khác. Cái này gọi là đạo đức giả thật không sai.
Tui cứ nhớ một ông thầy dạy triết hồi lớp 12. Ông nói bạn có tiền nên khi làm… vụ ấy, bạn vào khách sạn kín đáo. Người không có tiền, hẹn hò nơi… công viên. Trông ghê tởm. Nên phải cấm, phải hạn chế. Nhưng khi đó là nhu cầu. “Muốn” mà không có tiền thì phải “Nhịn”. Có phải hợp đạo đức không? Vấn đề năng lượng cũng vậy. Anh giàu có rồi nên ra luật lệ để mấy thằng nghèo càng nghèo thêm. Có phải là đạo đức?
Nên cứ thẳng thắn như ông Trump. Mỹ có dầu sao không hút lên xài mà phải chạy qua tuốt Trung Đông mà mua. Dân có tiền thì mua xe điện. Dân nghèo thì xe cũ. Giờ ra luật cấm xe xăng thì người nghèo đi bằng cái gì?
Moá! Chúng nói nước biển sẽ dâng lên mà nhà ven biển dân giàu mua hết trọi!

Climate Change

Daddy Trump always says things that are not pleasing to intellectuals and so-called elites. Who in the world at the United Nations would say that climate change is a scam? Not even bothering to say it in a way that is “reverse meaning words” like Vietnamese often say. It is really disrespectful to scientists who have been researching for decades. People hate him and have many contemptuous comments because of that. A few years ago, I also tried to write about this issue in the contrary way but was severely “hammered” immediately. Nowadays, anyone who has an environmental perspective like Daddy Trump would be severely condemned. It has become an ethical issue.
When I was in school, I was taught that the earth is covered by an atmosphere and that is the life of all living things. This atmosphere is like a glass shield that helps us avoid the harmful effects (radiation) of sunlight. Because it is an enclosed place like a greenhouse that people often use for off-season farming, if we use fuel that emits CO2, it will make the earth hotter. Let's do a proper experiment. Take two plastic bottles. One bottle is left as is and then screw the cap on. One bottle is filled with CO2 and then screwed on. Both have a thermometer in it.
Leave the two bottles in the sun for a while. Then you will see that the bottle with CO2 is "warmer" than the other. It is called no way to run from the sun. The experiment made me believe that if humanity continues to emit a lot of CO2, the earth will heat up.
And if the earth is hot, the ice in the North Pole and South Pole will melt. The sea level will rise. The land will be flooded by a few hundred metres. People will have no place to live... Quickly the so-called elites find a way to reduce CO2 emissions. Coal and diesel are the worst crimes. TV shows terrifying images of factories billowing dark smoke. Earth-loving elected officials rush to make laws to limit CO2 and other gases emissions. The people who emit the most CO2 are the poor. Only the poor drive diesel cars, only the poor use coal and wood in their daily life. Coal can be used immediately after being dug up. Wind power or solar panels require money and investment capital to make.
At that time, I knew a Filipino girl. She often went to Japan to buy my goods (used goods). One day, I bought a new Mercedes at a cheap price. The Japanese steering wheel is right for her. I sat in the car to test drive it, oh My Gosh, it was smooth, just press the accelerator lightly and it took off, without a sound. I packed it and sent it to her so she could drive it in style. I didn't have the money to buy it. Later, I heard her say that petrol or diesel cars are not allowed in the capital Manila. Because diesel cars are banned in the city. Oh My Gosh, when I bought that Mercedes and test drove it, I didn't know it ran on diesel. I lost the money!
Australia is more civilized. They don't ban anything. They just tax diesel by a few dozen percent. In Australia, diesel vehicles are more expensive than gasoline vehicles. However, heavy-handed manual workers like me have to drive diesel vehicles and don’t dare to “touch” gasoline vehicles. Coal is now completely banned, even gas is gradually phased out. Coal is abundant in Australia. Many power plants are located right on coal mines. They shovel it into the furnace on the spot. So convenient. Now it’s all closed. Go to Singapore to buy gasoline to run generators. Needless to say, the price has been dumped on people’s heads.
Back then, when going to the market, the seller paid for the bag. Now we pay. Some researchers even say that raising cows releases a lot of CO2 and Methane, so we will soon switch to eating artificial meat. And now, they encourage the use of solar panels or wind turbines. No one mentions how polluting it is to make batteries or how the giant turbines scare away birds, causing pests to develop. Farmers have to spray more pesticides. People who eat them get sick.
In general, everything has a price. Getting one thing means losing another, which is fair.
Later, I got to fly on… planes a lot. Looking down from above, we see that humans are as small as ants. The sky and the earth are vast. Even if tens of billions of people were born, we still wouldn’t be able to live on the entire earth. Humans and nature are nothing. Why are we so afraid to make ourselves suffer? Energy makes the world civilized. Just ask yourself, without electricity, we would all die of thirst because the water pumps wouldn’t run. Now, if you ask AI, let it think for you and answer, we must have electricity running smoothly. Taking advantage of available energy is a way to save. When I was studying world history and global geography, I knew that Europe had a lot of mines. But now they are closed and not exploited for fear of environmental pollution. They prefer to buy Russian and American minerals. Live proudly with “morality”. But in fact, it is transferring the dirt, pollution to others. This is called hypocrisy, it’s not wrong.
I always remember a philosophy teacher in 12th grade. He said that if you have money, when you do… that thing, you go to a hotel discreetly. People without money, dating in… parks. Looks disgusting. So it should be banned, limited. But when it is a need. “Want” but no money, then have to “Abstinence”. Is that ethical? The same goes for energy. You are rich, so you make laws to make the poor poorer. Is that ethical?
So be straightforward like Mr. Trump. America has oil, why don’t they pump it up and use instead of having to go all the way to the Middle East to buy it. People with money buy electric cars. Poor people buy old cars. Now that there is a law banning gasoline cars, what will the poor use?
Damn it! They say the sea level will rise, but the rich will buy all the houses along the coast!
And contradicting to the doom predictors of climate changes, just recently the news comes out from studies of the ice plates in both poles confirm that in both North and South poles ice has not melting but grown by hundreds of gigatons a year.
