Hết dầu rồi tới đất mà đất hiếm nữa. Dạo này vàng lên giá, đất cũng ăn theo.

Tìm hiểu mới biết cái loại đất này rất cần cho kỹ nghệ làm pin hay chips. Mà đời sống của mình bây giờ gắn liền với mấy thứ đó. Một tỷ dân thì một tỷ cục pin điện thoại luôn kè kè bên mình. Lỡ quên là phải vòng xe về lấy bỏ túi chớ không có là không được. Mới thấy nó quan trọng.

Tui nhớ cái hồi tui làm thợ hồ hai mươi năm trước. Làm ở đâu cũng hỏi nơi đó có điện không? Nhất là khu nhà mới. Không có điện là đi về. Bây giờ tất cả dụng cụ làm nghề đều dùng pin. Ngay cả những máy cần công suất cao như máy cắt bê tông cũng xài pin. Chớ xài máy nổ thì sức tui hỏng giật nổi.

Pin đó gọi là pin lithium. Mạnh và xài lâu hết. Không như mấy cục pin hay bình điện thời xưa. Phải có “đất hiếm” mới làm ra pin này được. Tui chỉ biết tới đó. Còn cái đất này có bao công dụng khác thì tui không biết. Nếu cả thế giới này xài xe điện thì tưởng tượng coi là bao nhiêu đất cho đủ. Nghe nói phải tinh luyện hai tấn đất mới được một cục pin cho xe.

Đất hiếm có bao la. Nơi nào cũng có. Nhưng tinh luyện nó thì ô nhiễm. Mà cái đáng sợ nhất là nó có phóng xạ nguyên tử. Coi bộ cái gì cũng có giá phải trả. Muốn xanh sạch thì cũng phải ung thư tá lả. Đời là thế!

Mới lên ngôi… vua triều đại Đỗ Nam. Ông vua này đã nhìn ngang nhìn dọc xem nơi nào có… đất. Dẫu biết rằng có xứ vua Tập cung cấp dồi dào cho Mỹ rồi. Nhưng vua Đỗ Nam nhìn xa. Gọi là “có tầm”. Nếu một mai canh chẳng lành chẳng ngọt. Xứ vua Tập cắt đất cái rụp. Có nước qua đó quỳ lạy như bác Bi.

Gấu liếc xéo: Cứ lo chuyện người ta, nước mình ai làm thủ tướng cũng không biết.. Nè! Em còn tiền không, mua vài share công ty khai khoáng đi. Anh đoán lão Trump mời thủ tướng ta là có ý đồ chớ không tốt lành gì đâu. Lão bị Tập chơi vố này nặng. Quýnh đít rồi mới nghĩ đến Úc…

American King mấy tháng nay đâu thèm đoái hoài gì đến cái nước tui. Tổng thống nào cũng tiếp đón rồi. Úc thì chưa. Vì ổng biết Australian hỏng ưa gì ổng. Ông đại sứ Úc ở Mỹ tố khổ ổng hoài. Các đài truyền thông Úc chuyên lôi ổng ra bêu riếu. (May có JNN gỡ ghẻ). Nhưng nay vua Tập ọ ẹ đất hiếm rồi. Sực nhớ Úc cũng thiếu gì đất. Nên vội vã làm lành với Úc.

Mới thấy ngồi chửi là dễ nhất chớ mà lo được cho dân khó vô vàn. Bàn mưu tính kế, tìm vây cánh, tìm nơi giá rẻ. Sao có lợi nhất cho nước mình. Vua Tập cũng vậy. Cũng vì nước họ. Không nên trách ai. Nhưng sống phải có bạn bè. Không bạn thì… bè. Dù hỏng ưa nhau nhưng là đồng minh. Úc xưa nay là đồng minh với Mỹ. Kêu uýnh ai là đi uýnh liền. Lúc khốn khó này vua Đỗ Nam mới nghĩ lại. Đâu phải ai cũng có thể sống một mình. Phải có vây cánh. Qua bài học “đất hiếm” này mong vua bớt… cương với đồng minh. Canada, Anh,Úc… gắn bó lâu đời, nhiều lúc nghĩ dượng cũng hơi… bậy bạ. Don't use a generator, because I can't pull the rope to kick start it.

That battery is called the lithium battery. Strong and lasts a long time. Unlike the old batteries or car batteries. It takes "rare earth minerals" to make this battery. That's all I know. I don't know how many other uses these minerals play the major parts. If the whole world uses electric cars, imagine how much rare earth minerals is enough. Bạn nào mà được học dưới mái trường xhcn là ghét vua thậm tệ. Tội lỗi từ xưa đến giờ là do mấy ông vua hết á. Đọc mấy truyện dịch của Pháp còn dữ nữa. Ăn chơi sa đoạ cường hào địa chủ. Gọi chung là “phong kiến”. Tui cũng ghét vua chúa. Hồi nhỏ nghe cái tuồng “Đắc Kỷ Ho Gà”(hài). Mà thấy vua kỳ quá. Xin trái tim của trung thần để chữa bịnh cho ghệ iêu. Coi phim thì biết. Nhất là phim Tầu. Vua khoát tay là vệ sĩ lôi người ra chém.

Gần đây ở VN ta, có một số danh nhân thời còn vua được “trả lại em yêu”, ý quên, trả lại tên đường. Cái đường Lê Văn Duyệt là đường nhà tui hồi đó. Mấy ổng vô đổi thành CM Tháng 8. Khi trả lại tên,mạng xã hội, nhiều người không bằng lòng. Có ông gọi là…”thằng Duyệt”. Tui thông cảm. Từ nhỏ đến lớn chỉ học cách hận thù. Ngôn ngữ phải vậy thôi!

Nhưng sự thật trớ trêu. Quốc gia nào mà giờ còn… vua đều yên bình, dân làm ăn khá giả. Gần ta thì có Thái Lan, Brunei. Xa chút thì Nhật Bản, Úc Châu. Bên Tây thì vẫn còn vua hà rầm. Dĩ nhiên thời buổi này vua không còn quyền hành. Nhưng là cái “mối” đoàn kết quốc gia. Quốc hội khi tả khi hữu nhưng chỉ một vua (vua bi giờ chỉ có một hoàng hậu, không dám léng phéng đâu nghe…). Còn mấy nước không vua mà lại theo cái ông Lenin nữa là bi kịch. Tui xem cái clip cô Ngân bị công an bắt. Ủa? Đến năm 25 rồi mà bắt người làm như bắt cướp vậy đó. Không thấy thì không tin được. Rồi xiềng xích cho bàn dân thiên hạ xem. Đâu thua gì cái thời còn vua chúa như trong phim. Tui thấy ai ở bển làm ăn có tiền là y như rằng có ngày vô tù. Kỳ lạ hén!

Sáng chủ nhật hôm nay, Mỹ là thứ bẩy. Tui xem video mấy cuộc biểu tình No Kings. Vui quá xá. Lần này không còn máu lửa mà thư giãn. Có nhạc, có múa, có hình nộm. Có mấy anh chị gốc Việt cũng tham gia. Họ chống Trump vì ổng hành xử như vua chúa hay ổng tính truyền ngôi cho con? Tui không hiểu. Tui tưởng ở Mỹ quan toà quận mới là vua chớ. Thấy ổng mới làm hơn mấy tháng mà có mấy chục lệnh tòa khóa tay khóa chân ổng. Lại phải kiện tụng mới được… mở ổ khoá mà vua cái nỗi gì…

Hơn mười năm nay rồi, đảng DC lúng túng, chưa kiếm ra được cái gì hay ho để lôi kéo quần chúng. Cái vụ xanh sạch trở thành sạch sành sanh. Tiền chi quá nhiều mà không hiệu quả. Mém chết ở cái thời bác Bi khi năn nỉ Ả Râp bán thêm dầu. Còn cái vụ bác mở cửa cho người tràn vô, chỉ có lợi cho chính quyền và nhóm kinh doanh. Chớ dân nghèo là lãnh đủ vì phải san sẻ phúc lợi. Tui ở xứ Úc tui biết. Bệnh mà chờ được vô bệnh viện có khi cả năm sáu tháng. Người giàu có bảo hiểm tư. Người nghèo phải trông chờ nhà nước. Mỗi sự mất cân bằng người nghèo đều lãnh đủ. Nên mới hiểu vì sao ông Trump đắc cử với chính sách trục xuất. Nói ra là vô nhân đạo hay vô đạo đức. Mà thật ra chi phí phúc lợi cứ tăng hoài chịu sao nổi. Tui xem thống kê trợ cấp y tế cho người low income. Thời ông Ô có ngàn tỷ đô. Bây giờ là 6 ngàn. Chiếm một phần lớn nợ công. Cắt cái khoản này, tội lỗi đổ lên đầu ông Trump hết.

Tui nghĩ mấy anh chị phò DC, nêu vài chính sách hay ho hơn ông Trump thì tui kính phục. Chớ còn cứ chưởi thì ai làm cũng được. Mà ghét của nào trời hay cho của nấy nghe. No King thành Yes Kings cho mà coi. Coi chừng Baron ra ứng cử tổng thống đó…

Đúng là giọng điệu của ông Trùm. Thả con tin và giải giáp hay là chết. Mà Hamas, họ lại tin rằng ổng làm được điều đó. Mấy lần trước ổng hăm nhẹ là các con tin người Mỹ được thả hết liền.

Trong trận chiến với Do Thái lần này, Hamas học được cách đánh y như kiểu của Việt Cộng ở miền Nam Việt Nam trước 75. Nghĩa là giữ dân làm lá chắn và đào hầm để ẩn nấp. Chiến thuật này hiệu quả dù Do Thái có bom xuyên hầm.

Nhưng lần này Do Thái tỏ ý định sẵn sàng “diệt chủng” nếu dân Palestine không chịu rời khỏi địa bàn của Hamas. Không có dân thì hầm sâu đó cũng chỉ là nấm mồ.

Tui muốn viết bài này để nhắc nhở miền Nam ta cũng có một thời như thế mà các bạn nhỏ tuổi hơn không được biết. Tui đã sống ở một nơi mà danh từ hồi đó gọi là “vùng xôi đậu”.(gạo nếp là ta mà đậu phộng là mấy ảnh). Ban ngày thuộc chủ quyền của Quốc Gia. Ban đêm là của… Việt Cộng. Năm giờ chiều là lính tráng và các viên chức làm việc phải đi vào thị xã hoặc vào các đồn bót có hàng rào và lính bảo vệ. Một số đơn vị quân đội có ém quân đâu đó để phục kích. Nhưng ít hiệu quả vì mấy ảnh ở … ngay trong nhà dân. Ở dưới hầm chui lên sau khi được biết không có lính tráng gần đó. Mấy ảnh hội họp tuyên truyền, đi thâu thuế. Hoặc bắt cóc những viên chức như trưởng ấp hay cán bộ Xây Dựng Nông Thôn. Đem chặt đầu chớ không nổ súng. Sáng sớm tụi tui đi học thấy chợ có đám đông người. Để mang lại hoà bình cho Gaza, ông không những phải đối phó với Hamas mà còn phải đối phó với Do Thái nữa. Vì cơ hội tiêu diệt hết Hamas đã bị lỡ. Do Thái họ muốn đuổi cùng giết tận cơ. Nên ông cũng phải cẩn thận với ngay cả họ. (Ám sát). Họ phải nghe lời ổng để ngừng đánh bom. Và chỉ có ổng mới khiến Do Thái sợ. Muốn hòa bình, phải đủ trình độ can ngăn cả đôi bên.

Nhưng tui nghi ông dượng sợ… VN. Hôm nọ bác Cường hăm rằng phải đưa hoà bình cho Palestine và bỏ cấm vận Cuba nghe chưa! . Vì nghe mấy bò nói bác Cường cho Trump hai cái… “tát” ngay tại Hội Đồng LHQ. Sợ quá, sợ quá nên dượng lo làm liền. Được 50% rồi. Mừng quá!

Ông Trump luôn nói những điều không vừa lòng với những người trí thức. Ai đời giữa bàn dân thiên hạ ở Liên Hiệp Quốc mà ông nói biến đổi khí hậu là một trò lừa đảo. Không thèm nói lái là “đào lửa” như phe ta. Thiệt không nể nang các nhà khoa học đã nghiên cứu cả mấy chục năm nay. Người ta ghét và có nhiều bình luận coi thường ổng là vì vậy. Mấy năm trước tui cũng có mon men viết về cái vụ này nhưng bị “dập” liền. Bây giờ ai mà có quan điểm môi trường kiểu ông Trump là bị tẩy chay dữ lắm. Nó trở thành vấn đề đạo đức rồi.

Cái hồi tui còn đi học thì được dạy rằng trái đất có bầu khí quyển bao phủ và đó là sự sống của mọi sinh vật. Bầu khí quyển này như tấm kính giúp ta tránh được những cái hại (bức xạ) của ánh sáng mặt trời. Vì là một sự kín đáo như một cái nhà kính mà người ta hay dùng để trồng trọt trái mùa, nên nếu ta dùng nhiên liệu mà thải ra khí CO2, nó sẽ làm trái đất nóng lên. Thí nghiệm cho coi đàng hoàng. Lấy hai chai nhựa. Một chai để bình thường rồi vặn nắp vô. Một chai bơm khí CO2 vào rồi cũng vặn nắp. Cả hai đều có một nhiệt kế cũng thả trong đó.

Để hai chai dưới ánh nắng một lúc. Thì thấy cái chai có khí CO2 “ấm ấm” hơn chai kia. Gọi là chạy trời không khỏi nắng. Thí nghiệm làm tui tin sái cổ rằng nhân loại mà cứ thải khí CO2 nhiều là sẽ làm trái đất nóng lên.

Mà trái đất nóng thì sẽ làm tan băng ở Bắc Cực và Nam Cực. Nước biển sẽ dâng cao. Đất bị ngập. Người sẽ hết nơi sinh sống…. Mau mau tìm cách giảm khí thải. Than đá, dầu diesel là tội nặng nhất. TV chiếu hình những nhà máy ngùn ngụt khói làm hãi hùng. Các vị dân cử yêu trái đất vội vã ra những luật lệ hạn chế khí thải. Mà cái dân thải khí CO2 nhiều nhất lại là đám dân nghèo. Nghèo mới chạy xe dầu, nghèo mới dùng than đá. Than đào lên là xài được liền. Còn năng lượng gió hay pin mặt trời gì đó phải có tiền, có vốn đầu tư mới có mà xài.

Hồi đó tui quen một “ghệ” người Philippines. Ẻm hay qua Nhật mua hàng của tui (đồ cũ). Một hôm tui mua rẻ được một chiếc “Mẹc” còn mới mà giá rẻ. Tay lái nghịch bên Nhật thì thuận với Phi. Ngồi vô lái thử ôi chao nó êm ái, nhắp nhẹ chân ga là vọt, không một tiếng động. Đóng thùng gởi cho ẻm để ẻm lái cho sang chảnh. Chớ tiền đâu mà mua nổi. Sau này nghe ẻm nói xe không được phép chạy ở thủ đô Manila. Vì nơi đây cấm xe chạy dầu diesel vào thành phố. Má ơi, lúc mua cái Mẹc đó và lái thử tui không biết nó chạy bằng dầu. Lỗ vốn!

Úc văn minh hơn. Không cấm gì hết. Chỉ đánh thuế dầu diesel thêm mấy chục phần trăm. Ở Úc chạy xe dầu tốn hơn xe xăng. Tuy vậy dân thợ chuyên chở đồ nặng nề như tui phải chạy xe dầu chớ không dám “đụng” xe xăng. Than đá là cấm tiệt. Than ở Úc bao la. Nhiều nhà máy điện họ đặt ngay trên mỏ than. Xúc bỏ vô lò tại chỗ. Thật tiện lợi. Giờ đóng cửa hết. Qua Singapore mua xăng dầu về chạy máy phát điện. Khỏi nói là giá cả trút vô đầu người dân cỡ nào rồi.

Hồi đó đi chợ thì người bán chịu tiền … cái bọc. Giờ thì ta trả . Mấy nhà nghiên cứu còn nói nuôi bò thải nhiều CO2 lắm nên sắp tới chuyển qua ăn thịt nhân tạo. Rồi nay thì khuyến khích xài pin mặt trời hay cánh quạt gió. Không ai nhắc rằng làm ra cục pin thì ô nhiễm thế nào hoặc cái cánh quạt khổng lồ làm chim chóc sợ hãi bay đi hết khiến sâu bệnh phát triển. Nhà nông phải phun thêm thuốc trừ sâu. Người ăn lãnh đủ bệnh tật.

Nói chung, cái gì cũng có giá phải trả. Được cái này phải chịu mất cái kia mới là lẽ công bằng.

Sau này tui được đi… máy bay nhiều. Từ trên cao nhìn xuống đất mới thấy con người nhỏ bé như cái kiến. Đất trời mênh mông. Có đẻ thêm vài chục tỷ dân cũng không ở hết được trái đất. Con người với thiên nhiên có là cái gì đâu. Tại sao mà cứ sợ hãi để làm khổ mình. Năng lượng làm thế giới văn minh. Thử hỏi không có điện là … chết khát hết vì máy bơm nước không chạy. Bây giờ mà hỏi con AI, để nó nghĩ giùm mình và trả lời, là phải có điện chạy vù vù mới được. Tận dụng năng lượng sẵn có là một cách tiết kiệm. Hồi tui học thế giới sử và địa lý toàn cầu. Được biết Châu Âu thiếu gì các loại mỏ. Nhưng giờ đóng lại không khai thác sợ ô nhiễm môi trường. Mua của Nga của Mỹ xài mới chịu. Sống hãnh diện với “đạo đức”. Nhưng thật ra là chuyển cái dơ bẩn sang cho người khác. Cái này gọi là đạo đức giả thật không sai.

Tui cứ nhớ một ông thầy dạy triết hồi lớp 12. Ông nói bạn có tiền nên khi làm… vụ ấy, bạn vào khách sạn kín đáo. Người không có tiền, hẹn hò nơi… công viên. Trông ghê tởm. Nên phải cấm, phải hạn chế. Nhưng khi đó là nhu cầu. “Muốn” mà không có tiền thì phải “Nhịn”. Có phải hợp đạo đức không? Vấn đề năng lượng cũng vậy. Anh giàu có rồi nên ra luật lệ để mấy thằng nghèo càng nghèo thêm. Có phải là đạo đức?

Nên cứ thẳng thắn như ông Trump. Mỹ có dầu sao không hút lên xài mà phải chạy qua tuốt Trung Đông mà mua. Dân có tiền thì mua xe điện. Dân nghèo thì xe cũ. Giờ ra luật cấm xe xăng thì người nghèo đi bằng cái gì?

Moá! Chúng nói nước biển sẽ dâng lên mà nhà ven biển dân giàu mua hết trọi!

Daddy Trump always says things that are not pleasing to intellectuals and so-called elites. Who in the world at the United Nations would say that climate change is a scam? Not even bothering to say it in a way that is “reverse meaning words” like Vietnamese often say. It is really disrespectful to scientists who have been researching for decades. People hate him and have many contemptuous comments because of that. A few years ago, I also tried to write about this issue in the contrary way but was severely “hammered” immediately. Nowadays, anyone who has an environmental perspective like Daddy Trump would be severely condemned. It has become an ethical issue.

When I was in school, I was taught that the earth is covered by an atmosphere and that is the life of all living things. This atmosphere is like a glass shield that helps us avoid the harmful effects (radiation) of sunlight. Because it is an enclosed place like a greenhouse that people often use for off-season farming, if we use fuel that emits CO2, it will make the earth hotter. Let's do a proper experiment. Take two plastic bottles. One bottle is left as is and then screw the cap on. One bottle is filled with CO2 and then screwed on. Both have a thermometer in it.

Leave the two bottles in the sun for a while. Then you will see that the bottle with CO2 is "warmer" than the other. It is called no way to run from the sun. The experiment made me believe that if humanity continues to emit a lot of CO2, the earth will heat up.

And if the earth is hot, the ice in the North Pole and South Pole will melt. The sea level will rise. The land will be flooded by a few hundred metres. People will have no place to live... Quickly the so-called elites find a way to reduce CO2 emissions. Coal and diesel are the worst crimes. TV shows terrifying images of factories billowing dark smoke. Earth-loving elected officials rush to make laws to limit CO2 and other gases emissions. The people who emit the most CO2 are the poor. Only the poor drive diesel cars, only the poor use coal and wood in their daily life. Coal can be used immediately after being dug up. Wind power or solar panels require money and investment capital to make.

At that time, I knew a Filipino girl. She often went to Japan to buy my goods (used goods). One day, I bought a new Mercedes at a cheap price. The Japanese steering wheel is right for her. I sat in the car to test drive it, oh My Gosh, it was smooth, just press the accelerator lightly and it took off, without a sound. I packed it and sent it to her so she could drive it in style. I didn't have the money to buy it. Later, I heard her say that petrol or diesel cars are not allowed in the capital Manila. Because diesel cars are banned in the city. Energy makes the world civilized. Just ask yourself, without electricity, we would all die of thirst because the water pumps wouldn’t run. Now, if you ask AI, let it think for you and answer, we must have electricity running smoothly. Taking advantage of available energy is a way to save. When I was studying world history and global geography, I knew that Europe had a lot of mines. But now they are closed and not exploited for fear of environmental pollution. They prefer to buy Russian and American minerals. Live proudly with “morality”. But in fact, it is transferring the dirt, pollution to others. This is called hypocrisy, it’s not wrong.

I always remember a philosophy teacher in 12th grade. He said that if you have money, when you do… that thing, you go to a hotel discreetly. People without money, dating in… parks. Looks disgusting. So it should be banned, limited. But when it is a need. “Want” but no money, then have to “Abstinence”. Is that ethical? The same goes for energy. And contradicting to the doom predictors of climate changes, just recently the news comes out from studies of the ice plates in both poles confirm that in both North and South poles ice has not melting but grown by hundreds of gigatons a year.

Sáng hôm đó mới thức dậy thì thấy tin tức đăng ảnh bị ám sát, nhưng chưa mất. Video clip chiếu cảnh ảnh bật ngửa ra sau thật kinh hoàng. Lần đầu tiên tui thấy người bị bắn thật, không phải đóng phim. Ít lâu thì clip bị gỡ khỏi mạng. Nghe dượng nói lời cầu nguyện. Cũng nghe anh Mút lo âu. Khi đi đến nơi làm việc, bày đồ nghề ra chuẩn bị một ngày mới thì tin báo ảnh mất rồi. Tui không biết anh này. Hoàn toàn không biết. Chỉ chậc lưỡi nói tên sát thủ này tài quá. Ảnh ngồi trong lều chớ không đứng ngoài trời như dượng hồi đó. Nếu nhắm từ trên cao thì bị lều che mất phần đầu. Nhắm vào phần thân thể thì sợ lạc vào người chung quanh che khuất. Vậy mà hắn vẫn tìm ra một khe nhỏ xíu. Hôm qua lại nghe tin hắn bị bắt và hết hồn khi biết hắn mới 22 tuổi. Sao lành nghề bắn tỉa vậy?.

Mấy ngày sau tui tìm hiểu về Charlie. Thì biết ảnh là người cánh bảo thủ (cánh hữu). Tui lại chậc lưỡi nữa. Trẻ sao lại theo cánh này. Trẻ phải theo cánh tả chớ. Ta biết trong gia đình, mấy ông bà già ủng hộ Trump hết cỡ nhưng không dám đụng đến con cái, vì chúng ghét ổng thậm tệ. Bên Úc cũng vậy. Người trẻ họ khinh mấy ông già như tui ra mặt. Một cháu gặp tui nói rất dễ thương: A! Bác Jim “cuồng Trump” phải không? . Tui biết cháu không hiểu chữ “cuồng”, vì giọng cháu thật thân mật.

Tui mất mấy ngày tìm hiểu về ảnh. Thì mới biết ảnh đã hoạt động cổ vũ cho cánh hữu từ năm 17 tuổi lận. Và anh chọn phương pháp tranh luận. Hậu sinh khả uý. Cách này khó. Chỉ những người giỏi trời ban mới thực hiện được. Mà ảnh rất trẻ, vốn sống chưa nhiều. Nói cho lọt lỗ tai người ta không dễ chút nào .

Phương pháp tranh luận thì tui không lạ gì. Vì tui từng học sư phạm. Đây là một trong những cách truyền đạt một ý tưởng.

Những năm 70, nền giáo dục VNCH bắt đầu chịu ảnh hưởng lối giáo dục Mỹ. Trước đó thì thầy giảng và học sinh ghi chép. Sau thì thầy cho đề bài, học sinh tìm hiểu rồi lên bục giảng thuyết trình. Mới đầu kêu tên mình là run lẩy bẩy, nghẹn họng nói không được. Thầy cho cầm giấy đọc. Rồi cũng quen, có thể nói vài câu. Thường thầy chỉ cho trình bày mỗi đề tài từ ba đến năm phút. Hết giờ là cắt ngang. Xuống đi trò. Tức lắm. Phải tìm cách nói ngắn mà hay. Tránh nói dài nói dở. Học kiểu đó, sau này ra đời luôn tự tin.

Lên đại học thì có tranh luận. Thầy ra một đề tài. Hai nhóm bắt thăm xem mình sẽ binh hay chống nó. Sau đó đứng trước bàn dân thiên hạ, dùng lý lẽ nói phần đúng cho phía mình. Thí dụ như đề tài: có nên dùng roi vọt để dạy học trò hay không. Tui bắt trúng cái thăm “có”. Bên bắt trúng thăm “không” thì dễ rồi. Vậy mà khi tranh luận nhóm tui thắng. Nhờ câu kết là: roi vọt chỉ có tính răn đe và phải thật công bằng. Cũng như trong xã hội vẫn phải có nhà tù. Đáng lên án là lợi dụng nó để phục vụ lợi ích một người hay một đảng phái.

Học theo phương pháp tranh luận. Ta hiểu trên đời này không có gì đúng 100%. Sau mỗi lần tranh luận, người ta sẽ rút được cái trung dung. Nhìn mọi vật đa chiều. Tự dưng thành người lương thiện, tránh được cực đoan.

Cộng sản cũng dùng phương pháp này. Gọi là “thảo luận”. Tui học được cả hai chế độ nên rành. Giáo viên cho đề tài và học sinh tự do phát biểu. Sau đó thầy đúc kết và khéo léo dùng ý kiến của mình “chêm” vô. Cái đề tài đều là của mấy ông lớn đưa ra. Thí dụ như: Có linh hồn hay không? Người nói có, người nói không. Dĩ nhiên là không thể chứng minh nên cuối cùng thầy kết luận là… không có. Các đề tài sắp xếp sao đó để học sinh thành người… vô thần. Sau này làm cái gì cũng không sợ hậu quả. (Bắn người biểu tình chẳng hạn.)

Khi anh Charlie mất rồi. Tui mới xem lại nhiều cuộc tranh luận của ảnh. Mới biết nhiều người ghét ảnh vì… cãi không lại. Ảnh nói có duyên, hoà nhã, lý lẽ lại thuyết phục. Có một chị nói “tui hate cái nước Mỹ này lắm”. Ảnh nói: vậy mà chưa ai chịu rời nước Mỹ mà đi hết.

Điều gì khiến họ không rời? Đó là sự tự do. Không ai có quyền áp đặt suy nghĩ của mình lên người khác, ngay cả tổng thống. Tự do ngôn luận. Ai cũng có quyền nói ý nghĩ mình ôn hoà và không cổ vũ bạo lực.

Tuy vậy. Giữa tranh luận và “cãi lộn”. Thậm chí không nói về đề tài mà nhắm vào cá nhân. Nó là làn ranh mỏng. Dễ bị “rách”. Đôi khi bi kịch xảy ra. Charlie là một bi kịch. Vũ khí của anh chỉ là cái micro. Khi chết anh vẫn nắm chặt nó. Sau anh chắc chắn sẽ có thêm nhiều người nối tiếp. Bài học Nepal còn đó. Thủ tướng họ qua thăm bác Tập, học được bài “tường lửa”. Đem về xài liền. Cái kết là phải đu giây mới giữ được mạng. Cái dân Nepal xưa nay hiền lành nhất thế giới mà còn như vậy. Cũng may phe ta biết “nhồi” học trò từ nhỏ. Nên ai cũng yên phận. Cho bó cỏ là vui mừng rồi….

Sáng Chủ Nhật hôm nay, thấy bên Anh Quốc có cả trăm ngàn người biểu tình. Thấy có cầm hình của ảnh. Xứ Anh Quốc mà giờ ăn nói trái ý nhà nước là cũng bị hốt. Cầu nguyện trái ý cũng vô tù. Kỳ vậy? Có chuyện gì cũng nên “nói chuyện phải quấy”. Hãy tranh luận ôn hoà. Mục đích là tìm ra cái gần đúng. Nếu không đủ lý lẽ thì đứng nghe và tự tìm bài học cho mình. Đời này, đúng được 51% là hay rồi…

Lúc nghe tin Charlie mất. Ông dượng có nói vài lời. Lần đầu tiên tui thấy ổng suy sụp. Nói mà muốn khóc. Ông xưa nay không được lòng giới trẻ. Mà có một người trẻ đi theo con đường của ổng là mừng muốn chết. Ảnh hoạt động lâu rồi. Chắc cũng tạo được ảnh hưởng ít nhiều. Giúp cánh hữu thêm ít phiếu người trẻ. Thật quý giá. Người trẻ mất sớm luôn làm ta thương cảm ngay cả khi họ lỡ làm chuyện ta không vui. Vậy mà có mấy thằng già VN ở Bolsa và một thằng ở Texas nhảy cẫng vui mừng khi một người trẻ bị ám hại. Bó tay!

It was the first time I saw someone actually being shot, not in a movie. The clip was taken down from the internet shortly after. I heard my Daddy saying the praying. I also heard a number of Mits worried. When I got to work, setting out tools to prepare for the day, the news reported that he was dead. I didn't know this young man. I didn't know him at all. I just clicked my tongue and said this killer was so talented. He was sitting in a tent, not standing outside like my uncle did. If you aimed from above, the tent would cover your head. Later, the teacher gave the topic, the students researched it, and then went up to the podium to present. At first, when my name was called, I was shaking and choked up, unable to speak. The teacher let me hold a piece of paper to read. Then I got used to it and could say a few sentences. Usually, the teacher only let me present each topic for three to five minutes. When the time was up, he would cut me off. Get down, you. I was so angry. I had to find a way to speak briefly but well. Avoid speaking long and speaking badly. Learning like that, I would always be confident when I went out into the world.

When I went to university, there was a debate. The teacher gave a topic. Two groups drew lots to see if they would defend or oppose it. Then, standing in front of the public, I used reasoning to argue for my side. For example, the topic: should we use whips to teach students or not? I drew the "yes" lot. The side that drew the "no" lot was easy. Yet when we debated, my group won. Thanks to the conclusion: the whip is only a deterrent and must be fair. Just like there must still be prisons in society. It is condemnable to use it to serve the interests of a person or a party.

Learn by the debate method. We understand that nothing in this world is 100% correct. After each debate, people will come up with a middle ground. Look at things from multiple perspectives. Suddenly become good people, avoid extremism.

Communists also use this method. It is called "discussion". I have studied both regimes so I know it well. The teacher gives the topic and the students are free to speak. Then the teacher summarizes and cleverly uses his own opinion to "insert" it. The topics are all given by the big guys. For example: Is there a soul? Some say yes, others say no. Of course it cannot be proven, so in the end the teacher concludes that... there is no. The topics are arranged so that the students become... atheists. In the future, they do whatever they want without fear of consequences. (Shooting protesters, for example.)

When Charlie passed away. I just watched many of his debates again. I just realized that many people hate him because… he can’t argue back. He speaks charmingly, gently, and his arguments are convincing. One woman said “I hate America so much”. He said: yet no one has left America yet.

What keeps them from leaving? It’s freedom. No one has the right to impose their thoughts on others, even the president. Freedom of speech. Everyone has the right to speak their mind peacefully and not promote violence.

However. Between debate and “argument”. Not even talking about the topic but aiming at the individual. It is a thin line. Easily “ripped”. Sometimes tragedies happen. Charlie was a tragedy. His weapon was just the microphone. When he died, he still held it tightly. After him, there will definitely be many more people following him. The lesson of Nepal is still there. The Prime Minister visited Uncle Xi and learned the lesson of “firewall”. He brought it back and used it immediately. The result was that he had to swing on a rope to save his life. The Nepalese people, who have always been the gentlest people in the world, are still like that. Fortunately, our side knows how to “stuff” students from a young age. So everyone is content. This Sunday morning, I saw hundreds of thousands of people protesting in the UK. I saw people holding pictures of Charlie. In the UK, now if you speak against the government, you will be arrested. If you pray against the government, you will be imprisoned. How strange? No matter what happens, one should be allowed to “talk about the right and wrong”. Let's debate peacefully. The goal is to find the closest thing. If there is not enough reasoning, then stand and listen and find your own lesson. In this life, being right 51% is good enough...

When I heard that Charlie had passed away. My Uncle let out a few words. It was the first time I saw him break down. He wanted to cry. He has never been popular with young people. But having a young person follow his path makes me happy to death. He had been active for a long time. He must have made some impact. Helped the right wing gaining a few more young votes.
