Luck and Misfortune

Our ancestors had a saying: "in misfortune there is luck". Its meaning is really philosophical and life always goes like that. There is a consoling sentence: "loss of wealth trades off with your live". Obviously this is a good one. While we are sad about our loss, we also consider ourselves lucky because we are still healthy. As for the anecdotes about the fate of women, I wonder why men with wives of average beauty... the shortcoming in the beauty brings success in every way, but men who fall in love with beauties most end with disaster in their career. Because it's the balance of fate: in ugliness there is always beauty and ... vice versa. It is not possible to be both handsome, hand in hand with rich and well educated because inherently life has defects and we must always try to balance them.

From time to time I searched the internet, I also knew a lot of valuable information. Watching BBC TV channel, a Vietnamese man, fairly young, has been living in Poland for 30 years. He is volunteering to help Ukrainian refugees, among them there are many Vietnamese. He talks about innovation in Poland after escaping from the control of the Soviet Union under the communist regime. Their economy is now eight times that of Ukraine. That outstanding result has made Ukrainians determined to leave Russia and wholeheartedly embrace the free world, despite suffering devastating and deadly consequences like now.

However, in my opinion, Polish people are the united people so they progressed quickly. Ukraine, on the other hand, is a society of mixed matched races in which there are Russians, pro-Russian Ukrainian, people speak only Russian ... co-exist together. Some people just want this country to belong to Russia. In the style of "eating Ukrainian bread, but worshiping the ghost of Russia...”. That's the point. The society is behaving like that, so how can it be developed? While someone build others destroy. One region pushes hard with the backing of Russia to break way, to be independent and annex with Russia. The situation in the Donbass and the Crimean peninsula had that character. Some Russians came out in the open, but there were many others lurking undercover and the Ukrainian authorities could not identify and to root out.

Then Russia sent troops to attack with the aim to overthrow the government and occupy the whole Ukraine. Now, the Russian supporters are openly showing up, thinking that the invasion will be successful and will be over in a matter of a few short days. They informed the Russian forces about the Ukrainian resistance groups in the just occupied areas, who are resistant guerrillas or people with connection to the Ukraine government. These people were murdered by Russian soldiers in order to keep their occupying area secured. So I think there are a lot of civilian killed, and Russian soldiers are blamed for the massacre while they don't know who is who in the areas they have just occupied and was informed by Ukrainian informants. Within the Ukrainian government there are also quite a few Russian undercover spies in high-ranking posts. Now they are exposed, thanks to the war.

I still remember the time of Tet 68 offensive attack done by Vietcong in the whole of South Vietnam despite of the Lunar New Year cease fire agreement signed by them. Next to my house, there was a family that sold construction materials such as bricks, tiles, cement... They had a big truck transporting bricks from the countryside to their yard. I loved watching workers passing bricks by throwing and catching. Unexpectedly, those trucks concealed vietcong’s weapons and ammunition brought in from the countryside to the city in preparation for the attack. They showed themselves up as Vietcong during the Tet attack because they convinced and were confident that their Vietcong rebel force were going to succeed with their invasion, but they were beaten and had to flee to their jungle hideout, leaving their houses and properties behind. My family and neighbours never knew they were Vietcong in disguise living in our area. Those of you who lived during that time knew that there were many families of South Vietnamese government officers being murdered, because of these under covered vietcong living in our area. The South Vietnamese people at the time were living unknowingly with enemies lurking among them. Despite of this, the South Vietnamese government and her people still managed to build a successful free and democratic society. It was commendable. If South Vietnam was like South Korea, where all of those who follow the communist North Korea moved and settled in the North, and those who preferred to live with exploitative capitalist move to South Korea, then it would not have the dire situation that is happening in the South as today. Because of the "bean mixing with rice" problem, the country couldn't make any progress as every work is encountered with confrontation and sabotaging.

And so is in Ukraine now. Through this war, the pro-Russian elements who have been living in disguise, now are revealing themselves. If Ukraine wins the invasion war against Russia, they also win the internal cleansing up battle, and I think this is their "luck" from the misfortune they are facing. Then they will be able to catch up to Poland when the undercover spies are wiped out and their country returns to peaceful time with unity. This is called “luck and misfortune”.

Just as through this war, the world knows who support Russia, through the votes at the UN. The communist Vietnamese government has openly supported Russia, and now is caught offside with red face. If international communities shun Vietnam, then it is just natural. Doing business for economic profit might be possible, but shaking hands or embracing as trusted allies are out of consideration. I see that as the ASEAN and US conferences are taking place, Cambodia is more sought after than the communist Vietnam.

May rủi

Ông bà ta có câu :" trong cái rủi có cái may ". Ý nghĩa của nó thật là triết lý và cuộc đời luôn luôn diễn ra như vậy. Có câu an ủi:" của đi thay người ". Rõ ràng câu này hay. Trong lúc buồn bã vì mất của, ta cũng nghĩ mình may mắn vì còn lành mạnh. Còn trong những giai thoại về tướng mệnh người đàn bà, mình thắc mắc vì sao những ông có bà xã nhan sắc trung bình... yếu lại thành công mọi mặt mà những ông rớ vô người đẹp lung linh , lại bắt đầu kết thúc sự nghiệp. Vì đó là sự cân bằng: trong cái xấu bao giờ cũng có cái đẹp và ... ngược lại. Không thể có đẹp trai, con nhà giàu, học giỏi vì vốn dĩ cuộc đời luôn có khiếm khuyết và ta phải luôn cố gắng lấp đầy nó.

Lâu lâu mò trên mạng, tui cũng được biết nhiều tin tức giá trị. Bữa xem đài BBC, một bạn VN, khá trẻ. Sống ở Ba Lan đã 30 năm. Anh đang làm thiện nguyện giúp đỡ người tị nạn Ukraine, trong đó có rất nhiều người Việt. Anh nói về sự đổi mới ở Ba Lan sau khi thoát khỏi Liên Sô. Nền kinh tế họ bây giờ gấp 8 lần Ukraine. Nó khiến người Ukraine quyết tâm thoát Nga để về bên thế giới tự do. Dù lãnh chịu hậu quả bị tàn phá và chết chóc như bây giờ.

Tuy nhiên, theo suy nghĩ của tui, Ba Lan là một dân tộc đoàn kết nên họ tiến triển nhanh chóng. Ngược lại Ukraine, là một xã hội trong đó có người Nga, người thân Nga, người chỉ nói tiếng Nga ... sống lẫn lộn. Những người chỉ muốn đất nước này thuộc về Nga. Theo kiểu " ăn bánh mì Ukraine, thờ con ma Russia..." vậy đó. Nội bộ như vậy thì làm sao phát triển được. Người làm, người phá. Rồi đòi ly khai. Tình trạng ở Donbass và bán đảo Crimea có sự tiếp tay của họ. Những người Nga này ra mặt, nhưng còn bao người khác ẩn nấp bên trong mà chính quyền Ukraine không bao giờ phát hiện được.

Rồi Nga đem quân tấn công, chiếm đóng lãnh thổ. Lúc này những người thân Nga mới ra mặt. Họ chỉ điểm ai là du kích hoặc những người dân có liên hệ với chính phủ. Những người này đã bị lính Nga sát hại để giữ an ninh vùng họ trấn đóng. Nên tui nghĩ có nhiều cái chết của dân thường, đổ cho lính Nga thích tàn sát.Họ từ đâu tới nào biết gì hay thù hằn gì. Trong nội bộ chính quyền Ukraine cũng có những người làm đến cấp cao mà là gián điệp của Nga. Họ đã bị phát hiện.

Tui cứ nhớ hồi Mậu Thân 68. Kế bên nhà tui ở có một gia đình bán vật liệu xây dựng như gạch ngói, xi măng.... Họ có chiếc xe tải lớn để chở gạch từ miền quê về. Tui thích đứng nhìn họ chuyền gạch bằng cách quăng ném mà chụp ngay chóc. Đâu có ngờ những chuyến xe đó giấu vũ khí đưa từ ngoại thành vào thành phố. Họ lộ diện năm ấy vì tưởng chiến thắng, nhưng rồi phải rút vào "bưng", bỏ lại nhà cửa. Gia đình tui và chòm xóm trước đó không bao giờ biết họ là vc nằm vùng. Bạn nào sống vào thời đó biết có những gia đình sĩ quan bị giết toàn bộ, chính là do những người nằm vùng này chỉ điểm . Miền nam sống với thù trong giặc ngoài mà cũng xây dựng được một cuộc sống tự do đáng mơ ước là quá hay rồi. Chứ nếu thuần nhất như Đại Hàn, ai theo cs thì về bắc, ai thích tư bản bóc lột thì ở nam thì đâu có lình xình như ngày nay. Vì cái cảnh " xôi đậu " nên không tiến bộ được, làm cái gì cũng bị chống phá.

Và Ukraine giờ cũng vậy. Qua cuộc chiến này, những người phò Nga , sống lẫn lộn xưa nay đã lộ diện. Nếu Ukraine chiến thắng trong trận đánh súng đạn, thì họ cũng chiến thắng trong việc làm sạch sẽ nội bộ và tui nghĩ đây chính là " cái may " của họ. Rồi họ sẽ theo kịp Ba Lan khi cái bọn nội gián bị quét sạch. Trong cái rủi có cái may là vậy.

Cũng như qua cuộc chiến này, thế giới biết ai ủng hộ Nga qua các lá phiếu ở LHQ. Chính quyền VN ủng hộ Nga . Nếu bạn bè quốc tế xa lánh ta sẽ là điều đương nhiên. Làm ăn vì lợi nhuận kinh tế thì có thể, nhưng bắt tay thì xin miễn. Tui thấy cái hội nghị Asean và Mỹ đang diễn ra, Campuchea còn được săn đón hơn VN.
